This tutorial is for Slickr Flickr Pro Edition users who can customize the highlight color for the gallery using the “thumbnail_border” parameter of the slickr-flickr command. Non Pro users can achieve the same effect by modifying the CSS.
Terminology Note: the highlight color lights up the border of each thumbnail as you move you mouse over that image.
The following examples show that the border color can be set on each individual gallery
First Gallery With Custom Border Mouseover Color
slickr-flickr tag="avoriaz" items="7" type="gallery" thumbnail_border="#AABBCC"
Second Gallery With A Different Custom Border Mouseover Color
slickr-flickr tag="avoriaz" items="7" type="gallery" thumbnail_border="#11FF00"
Third Gallery With The Default Border Mouseover Color
slickr-flickr tag="avoriaz" items="7"" type="gallery"
Hi Mo,
The thumbnail_border option was added in version 1.25 of Slickr Flickr for Pro users – see http://www.slickrflickr.com/2282/flickr-gallery-highlight-color-customization/ .
Before this release you need to amend the CSS element as described here: http://www.slickrflickr.com/35/how-to-customize-a-slickr-flickr-gallery/

same issue always stays maroon but im using 1.24… russell i know your helping me on this and i will post what we find!
Russell says
Hi Steph,
When I move the cursor over the first gallery the border is highlighted in silver; for the second gallery the highlight color is lime green and for the third it is default color of red.
This works in all browsers.
I will change the article to clarify what I mean by ‘highlight color’
Steph says
Hi Russell,
I’ve looked at this page in Firefox, Chrome and IE8 and the borders in these three galleries look identical in all three browsers. Since nobody else has reported anything wrong here, is there possibly some problem with the latest version of the plugin?
Regards
Steph
