The latest version of this popular Flickr WordPress plugin, Slickr Flickr Version 1.20, was released on January 16th 2011. The changes are:
- Added support for links back to Flickr in the galleria captions
- Added support for Evolution LightBox and PrettyPhoto LightBox
- Added better instructions for using third party lightboxes with Slickr Flickr
- Added slideshow “transition” parameter to override the default transition of 0.5 seconds (Pro version)
- Added “align” parameter to make it easier to center a gallery or slideshow
- Improved handling of large thumbnails
- Improved error reporting when attempting to fetch more than 20 photos from a photoset
- Fixed display issues where there is only a single photo in the slideshow
New Feature – More LightBox Support
The plugin has extended to be compatible with two more LightBoxes: WP Pretty Photo and premium/commercial Evolution LightBox – this adds to the list that includes ColorBox(a.k.a. LightBox Plus), ShutterBox, SlimBox, ThickBox and ShadowBox. Check out the link about for more information on configuring both Slickr Flickr and your chosen LightBox plugin to work together.
New Feature – Align
The most typical of the new “align” parameter will be to center a slideshow. Check out the How To Center a Slickr Flickr Slideshow
The align parameter can be used for both slideshows and galleries but not type=galleria
Improvement – Large Thumbnails
Large thumbnails are not square so in a gallery that is a mix of portrait and landscape orientation photos it used to look at bit of a mess. In the new release the portrait thumbnails are reduced in size to the correct height so the rows are all the same size. The effect is not in deal as the portrait thumbnail is narrower than the landscape thumbnails and hence there is white space around the thumbnail.

Russell,
I have used this wonderful plugin on several sites now, and I love it dearly. However, I just noticed that on my latest site, the fade transition is not working. The pictures just cut from one to the other. I compared it to one of my other sites that is still working correctly, and the settings are identical. The only difference I could find is that the older site is using 1.18 and the new site is using 1.20. Any idea what is going on?
