The new release of Slickr Flickr has an option to use the new Galleria 1.2 which has a number of enhancements such as a carousel and skins.
The full set of Galleria 1.2 features documentation gives you instructions on how take full control of the many new image sizing, transitions and layouts.
In the next release of Slickr Flickr I will add an galleria “options” parameter so you can set up any combination of the 30 or so parameters you like. I will also add a “skin” parameter so you can choose how to style the galleria using a galleria theme
Flickr Video Tutorial for Configuring The New Galleria
The video shows the differences between the old galleria 1.0 and the new version 1.2, and then explains how to change your settings to select one or the other.
Example of a Galleria
Below is an example of a galleria. It is the settings on the Slickr Flickr Admin Settings page that determines which version of the Galleria is displayed. It is not possible to run both versions of the galleria at the same time:you have to choose one or the other.
For now I have reverted to the original galleria as I prefer the way it looks. Before using the new galleria will need to write a galleria skin which is suitable for sites that have a white background

I am not yet familiar with the galleria features yet. The next version of Slickr Flickr in a few days will allow you to pass ‘options’ to the galleria.
This may give you what you are looking for: See the thumbCrop parameter which is the same as the imageCrop parameter as defined here : http://galleria.aino.se/docs/1.2/options/imageCrop/.
When I do the Slickr Flickr release I will do a tutorial showing the different cropping effects

Is there any way to control how Galleria crops the images in the carousel?
